Full-Featured Guitar
This traveling guitar comes in a full-size 24-inch scale. No scrimping on quality materials either with a solid spruce top, a mahogany body and neck as well as a rosewood fingerboard. The guitar is polished off with quality geared tuners and professional binding and inlay.

Amazing Sound, Amazing Price
Despite this guitar having a small body for travel, the size does not matter to the quality of the sound this instrument produces. Compared to full sized guitars, the Washburn Steel String Travel Acoustic Guitar holds its own and allows for easier travel. All for a great price that cannot be beat.

Shown in blue with travel case and accessories.

Extremely Playable
This is the kind of guitar that can be used for practice as well as for travel. Its projection and richness is on par with full sized guitars and the 24-inch scale allows for ease of playing. The neck is very comfortable for fingering, the body isn't bulky and fits into tight spaces and the quality of construction is on par with full sized guitars for triple the price. It just feels good and begs to be played.

Complete with Case
The Washburn Steel String Travel Acoustic Guitar comes complete with the highest quality cordura case with a hard foam lined, molded interior. This case includes internal and external storage pockets, a backpack with luggage straps, 3 D-rings to adjust the strap and clips on to an exact fit to your body and, finally, the case is sized to fit airline overhead storage bins.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm buying one for everyone in my family., July 17, 2011
This review is from: Washburn Steel String Travel Acoustic Guitar (Black) (Electronics)
The guitar is made in China and yes it has a very strong plastic semll that lingers in the case from manufacturing. But that is not going to stop me from buying one for every one in my family. My grandma is going to get one and she doesn't even play guitar. I had bought this for taking camping and travelling, and it has since taken over as my primary guitar. I agree that the strings should be replaced, but the stock ones are fine in my opinion. The guitar comes in a nice box which has outdoor activities plastered all over it, none of which have a picture of the guitar in them. Included with case are straps (one for guitar and one for the case), a learn to play guitar DVD(I gave it away), multiple soft picks, and an adjustment kit. My dad is a seasoned guitarist and once he picked this up he could not put it down. Great guitar and worth every penny.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, funky smell, May 29, 2011

For the price, you can't beat this small, lightweight, good sounding travel guitar. It takes a few minutes to get used to the odd proportions (hint - use the strap always) but sure beats lugging a full size guitar all over the world. As other reviewers have noted, the case and strap have a funky odor. I left the open case on the front porch for an entire day and it didn't help. I left the strap hanging on the back porch for days prior to my trip - didn't help. Best suggestion is to leave the case shut whenever possible. Otherwise your hotel room or tent will smell funnny.

I just bought this to take with on business trips so I can maintain my practicing on the road - I'm usually gone Mon to Wed/Thurs at a stretch. I am a fairly new guitar player (started lessons about a month ago) and recently bought a new "home" guitar (an acoustic-electric Seagull cutaway.) In shopping for a travel guitar, price, sound, and playability were the most important factors. I tried out a Martin Backpacker but I just did not like the shape or the sound, and it was $200. It felt like playing an unamplified electric (aka a block of wood - no resonance.) The Washburn Rover offered a variety of colors (and it was really nice to have a few colors to choose from.) The sound is nice and bright, and reasonably loud for such a small body. I actually don't want it too loud, so that I can still play late at night in the hotel or my not-at-all soundproof apartment. (I believe in respecting one's neighbors.) Out of the box it needed tuning, and then tuning again 10 hrs later,... Read more
